This is the official guide for the Lunar SMP Season 6: Eclipse.
The main side effect, canonically, will be sleep deprivation. Due to the constant eclipse, players cannot canonically sleep through the night. YOU choose how YOUR CHARACTERS are effected, however - be creative and have some fun with this~!Cleveland Clinic list of sleep deprivation side effects:
- Fatigue and a lack of energy
- Poor balance and coordination
- Mood changes and mental health issues
- Forgetfulness and neurological concerns
Sleep deprivation can also cause neurological disturbances like:
- Blurred vision.
- Memory lapse.
- Poor reaction time.
- Changes in your appearance
- Dark undereye circles.
- Drooping eyelids.
- Pale skin.
- Red eyes.
- Swollen/puffy eyes.
- A weakened immune system
- Higher stress levels
- Increased risk of cardiovascular disease
PHASE 1: DISCOVERY ✔
Players will work to discover the Darkness and devise plans to stop it. Players will need to solve the clues that lead them back to the truth about the Darkness or discover a plan to destroy the Darkness instead.2026 THE DARKNESS BEGINS TO TARGET ALL DEMON, DEMON-RELATED, OR LUNARTHEOS RELATED CHARACTERS. - Find the Compass & follow it in the OverworldCharacters can choose here to believe Pride and believe they need to kill the Darkness OR believe Greed and continue to search the castle for answers.
- If they believe Greed, they will need to search the castle for the compass and follow it in the Overworld.

TO DO:
- Get Compass from Vulcan's office on the second floor to find his current area.
- Read "Vulcan's Note" at his current area.
- Get the Compass to lead you to the Sun's New Home
- Set up a meeting with Vulcan in the #writers-room to be given a task. In order for him to reveal where all of the Gods are currently, especially the Sun, this task will need to be completed.VULCAN'S SIDE QUEST MUST BE COMPLETED, BEFORE WE CAN GET TO THE NEXT PART
PHASE 2: THE TRUTH
Now that players know the truth about the Darkness, they will need to figure out the history of the Darkness, and work to stop / help them.TO-DO
Around this time, the characters will start to feel the effects of the constant eclipse and lack of daylight. You can read more here and decide how you want your characters to be effected.
PHASE 3: INTERLOPERS
Any villains / interlopers who have stakes in wanting to keep the Darkness around or defeated will appear, such as Pride, and it is up to players to choose what side they are on.> ANTAGONIST CHARACTERS - This would be where you continue to want to destroy the Darkness, causing conflict with other players.TO-DO
- Form groups with characters that align with the path your character is following in #writers-room on the discord. Plan lore with each other to discuss what is going on, and plans to either stop or figure out the Darkness.
- A good idea for the players who want to help the Darkness would be to set out on a journey together with the compass you find at Pride's Castle in Phase 1.
PHASE 4: THE CONFRONTATION
Players will either defeat the Darkness, or work to understand / help them. Season 6 finale happens during this confrontation.TO-DO
- For players wanting to help the Darkness, find something to help them remember their past and search their old areas + try to help them remember who they truly are.
- For players wanting to destroy the Darkness, put your plan into action by following Pride's instructions and stop the other players from reaching the truth.> This would be a great time to lose some canon lives and make connections with other players in the #writers-room. Antagonist characters could try to stop members from reaching the location of the compass on their journeys.- Once the truth and who the Darkness truly is is discovered, your characters will need to summon the Darkness. A battle will ensue in the Season 6 finale, and a player will be decided to give the Darkness something to remind them of who they truly are, as well as restore the memories of the other Gods who forgot them.
PHASE 5: ENDGAME
The players reach their overall goal of discovering the truth about the Darkness and defeat them. Things go back to normal(ish) on the Lunar SMP, and we head into Season 7: The End.
A darkness has spread across the server. Players are unable to sleep through the night, resulting in sleep deprivation. Their crops are failing due to the Sun disappearing behind the eclipse. Can players find out what is causing this eternal eclipse, before it's too late?
The Darkness
- Released at the end of Season 5, this unknown entity seems to be the source of the darkness throughout the story. Find out their motives and try to defeat (or maybe help...?) them.The Sun / Helios
- What does he know about this darkness? He's remained locked away in his castle since the revelation he spent his entire life influenced by the Sin God, Pride, but maybe someone can get through to him to finally get him to help the server, once and for all?The Totally-Not-God Squad (Vulcan, Evander, Vera)
- These three always seem to have information on what is going on with the server. It might be time to rely on them for some information...Pride
- Finally respawning on the server after a thousand years away, he seems to have gone mad at his loss back in season 4, but he may have some important information lying within his mad ramblings...
REGARDING THE ECLIPSE
It is important to note that in the CANON WORLD of the Lunar SMP, this eclipse / darkness is ALWAYS active. In the overall story, there is an eternal eclipse that will not be solved until players solve the story of the season, and we have a season finale. HOWEVER, Lunar values all players equally, and we understand that not everyone wants to participate in lore. We do not under any circumstances want lore to take away from the overall SMP gameplay. Because of that, the eclipse is to only be toggled ON when lore is being performed - but again, in the overall story, it is always happening. The season will not end until the story is solved by players. There is a step-by-step guide here for what those steps are.
REGARDING THE ECLIPSE
It is important to note that in the CANON WORLD of the Lunar SMP, this eclipse / darkness is ALWAYS active. In the overall story, there is an eternal eclipse that will not be solved until players solve the story of the season, and we have a season finale. - Make sure you have the server-side resource pack downloaded.
- Warp to /warp go s6 and turn the switch ON. This will toggle it to be night and time will stop.
- You MUST make sure you toggle it OFF when you're done.
